Another night. . .

Another trip down to the cellar.
We are getting a bit of a thing going now the Hubby and I. He gets his paint and glue out, (and I have noticed my tweezers/scissors/third hand/side cutters/daylight foldi lamp. . . ), and I sit at the jewellers bench my father built me and attempt to make sense of the madness that it has become.
It is a lot better now I have to say. The 'stuff' box where all the beads ended up after a project was complete is empty. I definitely need a new storage box. But things are much clearer.
I have even cleared a few bits out completely that I have come to reason I will not use. However much I think I could do. . . I have an album of odd bits on Facebook if there is anything that takes your fancy.
There are a couple of books up for grabs too!

I really should have flipped those pictures - sorry!
I have resurrected a set of drawers that I think we had in the bathroom at our old place. And have metal bits, wire, jump rings, chain etc in one, cord and elastic and plastic in one and the third is a temporary holding spot for the beads that need a new home but have been put in seal top bags until I procure some new storage.
I have organised and tidied the two storage stacks I already had. I have a box full of seed beads to look at. This is not an appealing task as over time bags have split, lids have come off and the nice organised colours they were once are not quite so clear any more.
This evening I made a couple of new items too. All necklaces. I had a variety of odd pendants that I have been 'meaning to use' for years in some cases and I decided it was time to start so I have 5 new pendant necklaces to upload pictures of.
Things are starting to take shape. Funny how long it takes after moving to settle in again!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Until next time.

Give away. . .

In honour of our expected new arrival in January I have decided to give away this pretty bracelet.
As the expected arrival is a pink one so we are told I have chosen a pink bracelet.
I have written all about it over on my Facebook page so pop over and have a look if you would like to be in with a chance to be the new owner.

Happy Weekend!

An evening in the cellar

We ventured into the cellar last night.
Looks a bit bare - must get an updated picture.
I was a little worried it was going to be too cold to do much but it was not nearly as cold as I had anticipated. After being asked to make some jewellery for a friends girls for a wedding, (see Fit for a Princess), I had a bit of a tidy up and an attempted organisation of my side of the room. It is a little better and it has turned up all sorts of bits I am not quite sure what to do with. So I have started an attempt to use up the odds and ends and create some loveliness with what I have found.

Maybe something for a little girls Christmas stocking
Dragonfly earrings
And something for Mum's stocking!
Freshwater pearl and haematite earrings
I love these charms and the beads just finish it off.
One of two pretty bookmarks
I can't decide which I like more pink or green?
The second bookmark
This was an experiment and I think I am pleased with it's outcome.
Star tree decoration - needs ribbon
Yellow and green for the less traditional tree.
Another star - also needing ribbon
This was the first one I made. Looking forward to seeing them on a tree now.
Yes still need to get the ribbon box out
Finally this bracelet. The charm was very chunky and needed a heavy chain. I think anything smaller would have been too delicate. I was in two minds to bead the chain in red white and blue but I really liked it just plain and simple like this.
Union Jack charm bracelet
The final thing I made was actually a present for a friends birthday and was not about using up the bits I found as much.
Pretty heart wine charms.
I made lots of wine charms last year, they sold like hotcakes. They are very pretty and fairly easy to do.

What did you get up to this weekend?

About the house. . .

I couldn't remember if I showed you the picture of the toddler bed quilt I made or not so here it is!
I was pretty chuffed with it. I have a habit of thinking and doing but not planning how the doing is going to work. Luckily this time it just worked. Next to make a matching or at least coordinating pillow case. Not sure there is quite enough dinosaur material left for the whole pillow case but something!

I seem to have started this post and forgotten to finish it so here is the latest from the dinosaur corner.

Until next time!

Fit for a princess

I was recently asked to make some tiaras for two little girls who are off to a very important wedding next weekend. I haven't made a tiara for well I am not sure how long actually but a long time so I was a little worried that I would have lost the knack but I was really pleased how these turned out. The photography skills perhaps need a little work though!
What have you made recently?
I also fixed a broken necklace for the mother of the two little girls. It is very pretty and the clasp just needed reattaching. It would have been a shame if she had left it in a box as a piece of broken clutter!
This afternoon I am attempting to rid the living room of piles. We seem to have quite a few piles and I am sure there are better places for this accumulation of stuff.
Have a great weekend!

A make a month

I have to admit I have lost track of where I am on the make a month calendar. I had a job lot at once to post about but not sure anything happened for last month. However I thought I would share Septembers make nice and early in the month. Nothing fancy this month as we have a lot going on. A little gift for our friends daughter. They are moving to the UK next week so we wont be seeing them for a while.

A for Abbi!
I have wondered about a hair clip holder for a while. How easy would it be. Turns out very and I was pleased with the result. It looks better than I anticipated. It will soon be winging it's way to meet her when she arrives at the new house.

What have you been making this month?
